Aota Keiko "Ichimanyen"

On December 11, I went to Hita culture center to hear Hajime Yoshikawa’s address.
   A storyteller Kaori Kanda made a campaign speech. In the speech she told a part of the story “Barefoot Gen”, and read aloud a poem written by Keiko Aota who is a refugee from Fukushima disaster stricken area.
 The poem was so touched, it made me cry.

Through the two months we five of family had been evacuated to Miyagi prefecture
I bought some stuffs for the present, then I charged TEPCO for ¥10000 as the expenses.

After a few days, I’ve got an express mail.
As may be expected of TEPCO, how rapid action they did!  I opened it.
They returned it saying the purchase receipts of ¥10000 must be attached.

I should have lost such a receipt. They say if receipts are lost, claim where I shopped.

I don’t know. I’ve fogotten it.

I guess they don’t want to pay ¥10000.
They demand me to submit this or that before I get ¥10000, though they know I haven’t.
Like you’ve never remembered what you bought two years ago!
Those are neither diamonds nor houses!

Five pieces of bowls, five pieces of cups, five pieces of dishes, scrubbing brush, sponge, kitchen knife, cutting board …

I had to line up to get water from Self-Defense Force.
I had no time keeping receipts with making a full effort to live everyday.
I had not a slightest idea that receipts would be needed for compensation.

There was no table, instead I spread a piece of newspaper on the straw mat.
It was so nice, the first time we had tea with chinaware after using paper cups.

Those were commodities for five persons for two months.
We had no underclothes, no extra clothes.
Such as ¥10000.

I’ve underestimated
For they had made a threat that receipts must be added.
I have kindly discounted to offer TEPCO.
How greed and shameless they are!
Gee!  Nothing I don’t want to get. Nothing!

Instead restore Fukushima to the same state before “3・11”.
Get me back my hometown where basked in the orange afterglow of sunset came down from Abukuma mountain’s peak in early spring.
                                           


12月11日　日田文化センターに吉川はじめの演説を聞きに行った。
講談師の神田香織さんが応援演説をした。講談『はだしのゲン』の一部と福島の被災者、青田恵子さんの詩を朗読した。
泣きたくなるような、とても感動的な詩だった。

テーブル替りにしたんだげんちゃも
紙コップから　初めてセト物の茶碗で
「お茶っこ」した時は　うまかったなあ
五人で二カ月間の日用品だよ
下着も着替えも何にもなかったんだよ
一万円とは
ずい分少なく見積もってやっちまったもんだ
領収書出せなんて　おどすもんだから
こっちから東電さオマケして安くしてやったんだ
どこまで欲深であさましいやつらなんだ
ああ！　いらねえ　いらねえ
一万円なんと　いらねえわ
そのかわり”３・１１” の前の福島さ
戻してくいろ
早春の阿武隈の峰より注ぐあの
オレンジ色の残照に包まれた
オラのふる里を
