Parents' day

On 28th April Wednesday, I went to my daughter's junior high school to see open class and to take part in a PTA meeting.
At my daughter's class room, the students were learning English with two teachers --so called team teaching--. They were practicing the expression "Could you tell me the way to such a such place?"
The two teachers showed picture cards of a hospital, a fire station, a vending machine, a gas station and so on. As the teachers showed the cards to each student, the student talked aloud "Could you tell me the way to such a such place?" They did one after another. Some boy students looked like a little embarrassed. But the teachers and the students were studying seriously.
After then I attended a PTA meeting of whole grade, then attended the third grade PTA. The selection of officers took long and hard time. The class room PTA which was scheduled next it was called off because it was late.
But the home visiting is to come soon. So I'll be able to talk with my daughter's home room teacher then.
We should talk about the entrance exams of high schools. I think my daughter will take exams of a prefectural high school and a private high school. She has to study eagerly.

I'm glad to hear that my daughter wants to enter the English conversation club of Hita culture center.
I've often told my children about the club. I've expected one of my sons of high school student enter the club, but no son has been interested in it. When I hered my daughter wanted to enter the club, I was surprised and so glad, because she was still a junior high school student. I hope her enjoy communicating with various people.

4月28日水曜日　娘の中学校の授業参観とＰＴＡに行きました。
娘の教室では英語の授業を2人の先生が行っていました。チームティーチングと呼ばれています。生徒たちは「どこどこへ行く道を教えてください」という表現を練習していました。二人の先生が生徒に病院や消防署や自動販売機やガソリンスタンドやその他の絵のカードを見せました。先生が生徒ひとりづつにカードを見せて、生徒は順々に「どこどこへ行く道を教えてください」と声に出して言いました。何人かの男子は恥ずかしそうでした。でもみんな真面目に勉強していました。
　そのあと、全体のＰＴＡがあって、その後3年の学年ＰＴＡに出席しました。役員決めが時間がかかってむずかしかったです。その後に予定されていた学級ＰＴＡは時間が遅くなったので中止になりました。
　でももうすぎ家庭訪問があります。担任の先生とはそのときお話できます。高校入試のことを話さなくてはなりません。娘は公立１校私立１校受験すると思います。うんと勉強しないといけません。

　娘が日田文化センターの英会話教室に行きたいというでうれしいです。いままで何回か子どもたちに英会話教室のことを言ってきました。高校生の倅たちに行ってほしいと思いましたが、誰も興味をもちませんでした。娘が行きたいというのを聞いたとき　まだ中学生なので驚き、とても嬉しかったです。いろんな人と話すのを楽しんでほしいです。
