labor unions' new year meeting

 On 15 Jan. I went to a new year meeting of collaborated labor unions in Hita district. From the union I belong to four members attended.
There were a few members of the municipal assembly, a member of a prefectural assembly, and a member of a Diet. The attendance were seemed very ambitious about the election to be planned on July.
 Though I attended the party just to be sociable, I was glad to meet two teachers who had taken care of my children before. Especially I was very impressed to talk with a woman who is a principal of a junior high school. She goes to Saga university on Saturdays and Sundays till end of March to learn special support education. She also wiling to go to  a graduate school after she will retire, She said she wanted to learn all the better she had worked. We talked about practicing speaking English. She encourages students at her junior high school to sit for Eiken. There is a student who has already passed second grade and prepares for pre-first.

 After I had come home I texted to my daughter that she might meet her ex teacher at elementary school at campus on Saturdays or Sundays. She replied she didn’t think so because she rarely goes to university on Saturdays and Sundays.

 Anyway she inspired me to have a dream for after retired.

   １月１５日、日田地区の労働組合連合の新年会に行った。私の組合から４人出席した。
 市会議員が2、3人、県議会議員が１人、国会議員が１人来ていた。出席している人たちは７月に予定されている選挙に意欲的だった。
  おつきあいで行ったのだけど、以前、うちの子ども達がお世話になった先生２人に会えて嬉しかった。特にその一人は、いま中学の校長で、話していて心動かされた。
３月まで土日に佐賀大へ特別支援教育の講座を受けに行っているそうだ。退職したら院に行ってみたいとも話していた。働いてみたからこそ、勉強したいと思うことってある、と話していた。英語の学習についても話した。彼女は中学生達に英検を受けることを勧めていると言っていた。もう２級はもっていて準１級を受ける準備をしている子もいるとか。
　帰宅してから、娘に小学校のときのH先生と土日に学校で会うかもよ、とメールした。娘は、どうかな、土日学校に行くことってめったにないから、と返してきた。
  ともかく、先生のおかげで退職してから何かしたいと思ってもいいんだ、と励まされた。
