I went to Bepppu to attend a conference of labor union, from 22 to 23 May.
On the first day I had a lecture from some officers about new evaluation system, how to prevent mental disease and new agreement of employers and employees which start in two years.
Then we took dinner hearing the address from each department --clerks, practice teachers, school nurses, school librarians, female workers, part-time and correspondence school workers --then each district.
The dinner was family style. We shared the dishes.
After the conference I enjoyed spa. I shared a room with two acquaintance. We chatted over glasses of coffee flavor Shochu. A bottle of shochu contain coffee beans was gifted. Also we were given fruits.Both were taste so good.
Next morning I heard a lecture about power harassment and moral harassment. The tutor who came from the Atelier M, a consulting company was so great. She explained what to do if you met a harassment or if one of your co-worker met a harassment.
It's a heavy matter. I should remember which I've heard.
５月２２日から２３日 別府に研修に行きました。
初日は何人かの役員の方から新しい人事評価システムやメンタルな病気を防ぐにはどうしたらいいかや２年後から始まる労使協議などについて講義を聴きました。
それから夕食をとりました。その間、事務職、実習教諭部、養護教諭部、学校司書部、女性部、定通部からの挨拶を聞きました。そして各支部から聞きました。
夕食は大皿からとりわけるスタイルで、料理をわけあって食べました。
研修の後は温泉を楽しみました。私は他の２人の知人と同室に泊まりました。私たちはコーヒーの香りの焼酎を飲みながらしゃべりました。コーヒー豆を漬けてある焼酎を差し入れされ、フルーツももらいました。どちらもたいへんおいしかったです。
翌日午前中はパワーハラスメント、モラルハラスメントについての研修を受けました。講師はアトリエエムから来た方で、そても上手でした。私たちがハラスメントに遭遇したり、職場の仲間がハラスメントに遭遇したときどうしたらいいか説明してくれました。
とても重い問題です。聞いたことをしっかり覚えておかないといけません。

skin trouble
On 16 May Sunday, I watched OYT program on TV finding which hospital was on duty.
My daughter had gotten skin trouble on her face. On Friday she borrowed some sunscreen from her friends. She slathered it on her face before P.E. class.
In the night her face had become red and dry and slightly irritated.
The next day I had to go to Oita city for a meeting. In the Saturday night she slightly felt pain on her face.
So we decided to go to hospital on Sunday. I had known the doctor on duty was Doctor Matsuura.
We went to the Matsuura clinic in Chuoh machi. Doctor Matsuura told me there were two methods. A strong medicine might heal her skin immediately but it might stimulate her skin. Another method was moderate, taking medicine to cure the inflammation with putting some lotion on her dry skin. He asked me which method I would choose. I chose the moderate method.
Though doctor said “moderate” method, her damaged skin had healed soon.
I think sharing is a good thing. Her friend was kind enough to lend my daughter her sunscreen when she had forgot her own. But they should know sharing care tools has risk. They should not borrow nor lend them. It’s hygiene not stingy. She had a good lesson.

娘の顔が少し赤くなっていました。金曜日、体育の前に友だちの日焼け止めを借りて塗ったそうです。その夜顔が赤くなってがさがさして少しかゆくなりました。
次の日、私は大分に出かけなくてはなりませんでした。娘の顔は夜になって少し痛みもありました。
それで私たちは日曜日病院へ行くことにしました。当番医は松浦さんでした。
中央町の松浦クリニックへ行きました。松浦先生は二つの方法があるといいました。強い薬をつけるとすぐなおるかもしれないが、皮膚を刺激するかもしれない。もうひとつは無難な方法で、かぶれを直す薬を飲んで皮膚には栄養クリームをつけるというもの。どちらにしますか？ときかれました。私は無難なほうにしてくださいといいました。
先生は無難な、と言いましたが娘の皮膚はすぐなおりました。
わけあうことはいいことだと思います。娘がじぶんの日焼け止めを忘れてきたので友達が親切に貸してくれたのです。でも、ケア用品を共用するのはリスクがあると知ったほうがいいです。貸し借りはしないようにすべきです。衛生上の問題でけちではありません。いい勉強になったと思います。

At my son's high school
On 9th May there was a PTA meeting of my son's high school. It is usually held on Mother's Day.
We decided to raise the student association fee from next year. Because the less number of classes the less the incomes.
The officer asked us whether we agree the resolution about using cell phone submitted by coalition high schools in Kyudai district. Many parents worry about letting their children have cell phone. The reason why is it is convenient for the business of prostitution and drag. He explained. Almost all parents applaud to show their agreement.
I also did because I had no reason for against.But I think it will bother us. If you give your children a great tools with some regulation of sites and time, you try your child's patience.
Being not accessible to internet the prepaid cell phone can cut the nuisance. If you need your children have a cell phone as a tool which you can reach them by, you rather choose prepaid cell phone.
I'm interested in the fact that many parents venture a choice they will be more bothered.
Another news I'd been impressed. The vice-principal and the teacher who deals with the second grade told me. "There were serial thefts. So we told students be sure keep their money and goods. You parents are supposed to say your children also."
The criminal person is guessed among the students by the situation.
If parents had heard about the case on the day it occurred, they could pay attention to their children if they had extra money or goods, if it was something unusual. I asked my son's home room teacher whether he could call me on the day from now.
I think my son is one of the potential suspects.
The person has some problems, I bet. If he/she/they had chosen the thefts as an expression of his/her/their frustration, he/she/they should be taught the way was incorrect. Till we will be known who did it, including my son, all students are suspects. So I can't be relieved.
Not quitting such crime repeat, the person is unfortunate. Including myself human beings make a mistake. I hope me and my children not to commit crimes.
５月９日倅の高校のＰＴＡがありました。いつも母の日にあります。
クラス数が減るにつれ収入が減ってきたため生徒会費を来年から値上げすることが決まりました。
役員さんが、久大地区高等学校ＰＴＡ連合の携帯電話使用に関する決議に同意するかどうか諮りました。多くの親が携帯電話を子どもにもたせることに不安をもっています。理由は売春やドラッグ産業に便利な道具だからです。そう説明がありました。ほとんどの親が拍手で賛成しました。
私も反対する理由もないのでそうしました。でも、それはそれで苦労すると思います。子ども達に便利な道具を与えておいてサイトや時間を制限するのは、子ども達の自制心を試すことですから。
ネットに接続できないからプリペイド携帯はその苦労をせずにすみます。もし、子ども達に単なる連絡手段として携帯電話をもたせるなら、それを選べはすみます。
多くの親があえて苦労の多い方を選んでいるという現実が興味深いです。
もうひとつ印象的だったこと。教頭先生と学年主任の先生が言いました。「盗難が続いています。生徒たちに金品の管理をしっかりするよう指導しています。保護者のみなさんからもお願いします。」
状況から考えると犯人は生徒の中にいると思われます。
事件があったその日に家庭にも連絡してくれれば、親は子どもが見慣れない金品をもっていないか、様子が普段と違うのではないかと注意を払うことができます。倅の学級担任にこれからはその日に知らせてもらえないかききました。
私の倅も容疑者の可能性があるのです。
犯人はきっと何か問題を抱えていると思います。もし何か不満の表現として盗むとい行為を選んだなら、その方法は間違っていると教えてやらなくてはいけないと思います。犯人が見つかるまで、倅も含めて生徒みんな容疑者なので気持ちが晴れません。
再犯を止めないと、犯人にとって不幸です。自分も含めて、人間は過ちを犯すものです。自分と子ども達がそうしないことを望みます。

Constitution day
On 3rd May, the Constitution day,I went to hear a lecture given by Ms. IKEDA Kayoko, who is the author of "Sekai ga moshi hyakuninn no mura dattara".
She was angry about the children were blamed for being drop down their ability. She explained the ranking of PISA was down than before because of adding new participants. Suppose you were a student, even if your ability was same, as a smart transfer student came to your school your rank would drop down. She felt compassion for Japanese children.
She told about the Constitution. Maybe we think education, labour, and tax paying is our duty. She suggests children can't get education by themselves, so the adults support children to get education. It's the adults' duty and children's right. Labour is one of our right. Tax paying is our proclamation which we run the nation paying the necessary expences by ourselves.
I am surprised to know she and Mr.KAMATA Minoru are classmates. She joints efforts his charity of supporting the victim of Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant's accident. She said if we bought the books selling at the lobby, the benefit would contribute his charity. So I bought a book "The Constitution of Japan". She has translated the Constitution of Japan written in English originally to plain Japanese. It is more recognizable than the official Constitution.
I'm so glad I could hear such a suggestive lecture on the memorial day of Constitution.
５月３日 憲法記念日、池田香代子さんの講演に行きました。彼女は『世界がもし１００人の村だったら』の著者です。
池田さんは子ども達が学力低下と非難されることに怒っていました。ＰＩＳＡの順位が下がったのは新しく加わった国があるからと説明しました。皆さんが生徒だと想像してみて、学力が前と同じでも賢い転校生が来たら順位は下がってしまうでしょう、と。池田さんは日本の子ども達に同情していました。
彼女は憲法について話しました。おそらく皆さんは教育・労働・納税は義務だと思っておられます。子ども達は自分では教育を受けることができないから大人が教育を受けられるようにしてあげないといけません。教育は大人の義務であり子どもの権利です。労働は権利のひとつです。納税は、私たちが自分達で必要経費をもつことでこの国を回していくのだという宣言です。
彼女と鎌田實さんが同級生だと知って驚きました。鎌田さんのチェルノブイリ原発事故の被害者支援の活動に彼女も協力しているそうです。ロビーで売っている本を買うと売り上げがその活動に寄付されると言いました。それで私は『日本国憲法』の本を１冊買いました。英語原文の憲法を彼女がやさしい日本語に訳したものです。公式の日本国憲法よりわかりやすいです。
憲法記念日に示唆に富む講演を聴くことができてうれしいです。

Parents' day
On 28th April Wednesday, I went to my daughter's junior high school to see open class and to take part in a PTA meeting.
At my daughter's class room, the students were learning English with two teachers --so called team teaching--. They were practicing the expression "Could you tell me the way to such a such place?"
The two teachers showed picture cards of a hospital, a fire station, a vending machine, a gas station and so on. As the teachers showed the cards to each student, the student talked aloud "Could you tell me the way to such a such place?" They did one after another. Some boy students looked like a little embarrassed. But the teachers and the students were studying seriously.
After then I attended a PTA meeting of whole grade, then attended the third grade PTA. The selection of officers took long and hard time. The class room PTA which was scheduled next it was called off because it was late.
But the home visiting is to come soon. So I'll be able to talk with my daughter's home room teacher then.
We should talk about the entrance exams of high schools. I think my daughter will take exams of a prefectural high school and a private high school. She has to study eagerly.
I'm glad to hear that my daughter wants to enter the English conversation club of Hita culture center.
I've often told my children about the club. I've expected one of my sons of high school student enter the club, but no son has been interested in it. When I hered my daughter wanted to enter the club, I was surprised and so glad, because she was still a junior high school student. I hope her enjoy communicating with various people.

娘の教室では英語の授業を2人の先生が行っていました。チームティーチングと呼ばれています。生徒たちは「どこどこへ行く道を教えてください」という表現を練習していました。二人の先生が生徒に病院や消防署や自動販売機やガソリンスタンドやその他の絵のカードを見せました。先生が生徒ひとりづつにカードを見せて、生徒は順々に「どこどこへ行く道を教えてください」と声に出して言いました。何人かの男子は恥ずかしそうでした。でもみんな真面目に勉強していました。
そのあと、全体のＰＴＡがあって、その後3年の学年ＰＴＡに出席しました。役員決めが時間がかかってむずかしかったです。その後に予定されていた学級ＰＴＡは時間が遅くなったので中止になりました。
でももうすぎ家庭訪問があります。担任の先生とはそのときお話できます。高校入試のことを話さなくてはなりません。娘は公立１校私立１校受験すると思います。うんと勉強しないといけません。
娘が日田文化センターの英会話教室に行きたいというでうれしいです。いままで何回か子どもたちに英会話教室のことを言ってきました。高校生の倅たちに行ってほしいと思いましたが、誰も興味をもちませんでした。娘が行きたいというのを聞いたとき まだ中学生なので驚き、とても嬉しかったです。いろんな人と話すのを楽しんでほしいです。

Farewell presents
I've read a serial discussion about farewell presents on the prefectural employees' bulletin board during noon recess.
A young teacher has posted that he had been confused by his co workers' custom of sending farewell presents. Some employees say it's inappropriate. People in Oita prefecture may criticize that teachers exchange money and goods. Other employees say it's common-sence things, common practice.
We work together cooperatively, so if one of them transfer we want to give something as a token of our appreciation.
Perhaps those who opposite the custom are afraid of bribery.
But in my opinion, almost all of us whether you're a public employee or not, exchange presents in social relationship what motivate us. We want nothing in return. We do it intrinsically. So it is a present.
If somebody want something in return by sending a farewell present, it is not a present no more. It is trading.
If you asked your Mom how much she wanted the meal, you might get her disappointed. She did it just she wanted to do for you.
So I think farewell presents are different from bribery. Of course I should direct compliance with the law and ethics.
昼休みに餞別についての県職員のネットの掲示板のやりとりを読みました。
ある若手の教員が職場のお餞別の習慣にとまどったと書き込んでいました。 ある人々はそれは不適切だ、県民から教員は金品のやりとりをしていると批判される、と言っています。別な人々はごく普通の習慣だと言っています。
私たちは協力して仕事をしているので、誰かが転勤になると何か感謝の気持ちとしてプレゼントしたいと思います。
たぶん反対している人々は汚職を恐れているのでしょう。
しかし、私の考えるところでは、公務員であろうとなかろうと、ほどんどの人は私たちを力づけてくれる人間関係においてプレゼントをやりとりします。見返りを求めてはいません。自然としていることです。だから、プレゼントなのです。
もし、何か見返りを期待して餞別を贈るならそれはもはやプレゼントではなく、取引です。
あなたのお母さんに、食事代はいくら？とたずねたらお母さんをがっかりさせるでしょう。お母さんはあなたのためにしたくてしたのですから。
そういうわけで、私はお餞別は汚職とはちがうと思います。もちろん、法と倫理は守らなくてはと思っています。

But in my opinion, almost all of us whether you're a public employee or not, exchange presents in social relationship what motivate us. We want nothing in return. We do it intrinsically. So it is a present.
If somebody want something in return by sending a farewell present, it is not a present no more. It is trading.
If you asked your Mom how much she wanted the meal, you might get her disappointed. She did it just she wanted to do for you.
So I think farewell presents are different from bribery. Of course I should direct compliance with the law and ethics.
昼休みに餞別についての県職員のネットの掲示板のやりとりを読みました。
ある若手の教員が職場のお餞別の習慣にとまどったと書き込んでいました。 ある人々はそれは不適切だ、県民から教員は金品のやりとりをしていると批判される、と言っています。別な人々はごく普通の習慣だと言っています。
私たちは協力して仕事をしているので、誰かが転勤になると何か感謝の気持ちとしてプレゼントしたいと思います。
たぶん反対している人々は汚職を恐れているのでしょう。
しかし、私の考えるところでは、公務員であろうとなかろうと、ほどんどの人は私たちを力づけてくれる人間関係においてプレゼントをやりとりします。見返りを求めてはいません。自然としていることです。だから、プレゼントなのです。
もし、何か見返りを期待して餞別を贈るならそれはもはやプレゼントではなく、取引です。
あなたのお母さんに、食事代はいくら？とたずねたらお母さんをがっかりさせるでしょう。お母さんはあなたのためにしたくてしたのですから。
そういうわけで、私はお餞別は汚職とはちがうと思います。もちろん、法と倫理は守らなくてはと思っています。
