the medical checkup

  From 19 to 20 July, I went to the Kyushu Central Hospital for a whole medical checkup.
I stayed at the Nishitetsu Hotel Cruse.
  On the second day, I had got an information about my health condition. I have warned the luck of muscle and the low bone density. 
  But I was very glad to see the photograph of my gastric wall. Last year, there was much ulceration. According to doctor's advice, I had not had coffee or stimulant substances for these one year. The photograph has shown that there is no ulceration anymore. I may have coffee or Yuzugosho ; a type of condiment that is made by seasoning a paste of chili and yuzu peel with salt and then matured.
  The doctor recommends me to exercise. I should do.
  I have not received the inspection result yet. When I will get it, I'll liaise with the  safety and health controller on my workplace.

the lecture of ITSUKI DOHI

  On 18 July, the Marine Day, I went to Beppu city to attend a study meeting held by our labor union women's department.
  I heard a lecture by a transgender female teacher, Itsuki Dohi.
Her lecture was very cheerful. She was an excellent teacher. She bored me less than 0.1 seconds.
  She teaches math at a high school in Kyoto. In the beginning, she was "he".  He has been worked for students who struggling with discrimination, poverty, or trouble in their family.
  Meanwhile, he noticed he had not opened his own anxiety.
From his childhood, he wanted to wear female clothes. He had been longed to be female.
  One day, one of his co-workers, who was an open guy, lent him a book about LGBT. He read the book, then he came across the explanation of transgender. At the moment, he realized who he was.
  After that, he has been taking hormone drugs. there was disagreement with his wife, but later she realized his identity as a transgender. They are still a couple.
   Now he has changed his gender on his family register as a woman after he applied to a family court.
   She lectured us the difference between sexes are fluid, and there are some people who have opposite gender identity from their birth gender identity.
  After her lecture, the audience had divided into groups of 7~8 people and discussed how to treat the students at their schools.

I saw the "Straight Outta Compton".

On 17 July, I read an article by Machiyama Tomohiro, He reviewed a movie,”Straight Outta Compton”, which seemed interesting.

I searched TSUTAYA website. I found TSUTAYA Hita branch had only Blu-ray disc. I didn’t want to rent it. Then I found one in iTunes store. I rented it.

 It was a story about the rap music group N.W.A. ; Niggaz Wit Attitudes. In mid to late 1980s there used to be harassment to black people.

I don’t remember when and which book I’ve read, but I found an advise the word “fuck” is rude word sounds not intelligent, people who learn English as a second language should not use it.

 After that, I’ve been reluctant to use the word. 

But in this movie people use “fucking” in every sentence. I was surprised. And I’ve changed my mind.

At the last scene, Dre saw Easy lying in bed in a hospital, then he exited the room, then Ice Cube came and they talked outside Easy’s room. Ice Cube asked how he was, Dre replied, “He’s in a fuckin’ coma.”

 Just the moment, I realized how he was sad and how deeply he wanted to resist the fact. After that, I recognized people who use “fuck” because of their sadness or desire to resist the horrible reality.

 I felt a page of the world had turned in front my eyes.

 I knew Hip Hop was a culture which expresses rage, but I had been thoughtless.

 I just had known the word “fuck” a dirty word, I didn’t imagine why people use it. I was judgmental.

I’m so sorry the founder of N.W.A. Easy had died from AIDS.

Also, I was so impressed the actors’ distinguish skill. They played the role of musician, they sang, played DJ, there might be technical arrangement, still, they looked completely musicians.

Amakusa Environment Conference

I invited my daughter to go to the conference and sea-bathing. I reserved a inn before the revival discount has published.

On 9 July I left home 6 am and picked up my daughter at Saga at 8 am. From Saga to Isahaya my daughter drove the car. We went via Taradake Orange Ocean Road, Isahaya reclaim road. When we arrived at Kuchinotsu port, the ferry had just left. Then we had to wait one and half hour. Usually they have two ships to cross the sea, you can cross every 45 minutes. But for one week one of the ship was in the dock, that cause you can board every one and half hours.

We went to a restaurant near the port and ate sashimi lunch set.

I met a foreigner couple on the ferry, At first I hesitated to talk to them, finally curiosity got the better of me and I talked to the woman.

We chatted, and I found they were traveling in Kyushu by rented car. They had stayed Nagasaki the previous day and go to Amakusa by ferry then would drive to Ushibuka  then would get on a ferry to Nagashima, then would stay at Kagoshima city on the day.They were planning to drive Sakurazima, then would go to Miyazaki ,Yuhuin, at last Fukuoka. They would fly to Finland via direct flight. I had heard the direct flight between Finland and Fukuoka had started recently. They had tried it. I was surprised their itinerary. The husband asked us the time table of Ushibuka - Kuranomoto ferry, my daughter searched and told. I had a good time.

  At the conference, on the first day we listened Takaishi Tomoya sang. After that a report of the condition of Minamata victims. Some patients applied to be acknowledged but it did not go well. The reporter said the syndrome of Minamata disease from embryo stage is different from those got disease from adult. It is acknowledged officially, still, they are refused, There are surviving families who sued the Kumamoto Prefecture to acknowledge their mother who had died before being acknowledged.

I felt very strange. It sounded like a  “conflict in interest” case. The Kumamoto administrative office has to pay the compensation, at the same time they decide who is patient and who is not patient. Do you believe them that they achieve thoughtful for the patients?

  At night there was a welcome party on the beach. We had plenty of sea food, especially puffer fish made us so pleased.

  My daughter and I chatted with the local people and the lecturers from Hitotsubashi university, one of them was a young woman who is a graduate student and studying Kawauchi village Fukushima pref.

  On the second day, I learned about the condition of Kawauchi village people, and the plan of reuse the radioactive wastes for construction.

The Ministry of Environment published their plan to reduce the stacked radioactive wastes. Before Fukushima nuclear plant accident, the limit was 100 Bq/kg, whereas after the accident it has raised to 800 Bq/kg. They want to reuse the radioactive waste for construction only with changing the ministerial ordinance. 

The lecturer alerted us be careful that dangerous plan.

  After the conference, we treated nice lunch at the office, then went to beach. When we arrived at the port, the ferry had just left, and waited one and half hour again.

  Then we drove via Isahaya, Obama, Taradake Orange Ocean road to Saga city, I drop off my daughter, and back home.

7月9-10日、天草環境会議に行った。熊本県天草郡苓北町志岐であった。

娘に、会議と海水浴に行こう、と言って誘った。ふっこう割が売り出される前に旅館を予約した。

7月9日　朝6時に出発し、8時に佐賀で娘を拾って、佐賀から諫早まで娘が運転した。多良岳オレンジ海道を通って諫早干拓道路を通って行った。口之津港に着いた時、ちょうどフェリーが出たところだった。それで１時間半待たなくてはならなかった。通常はフェリーが２隻あって45分おきに航海しているが、ここ１週間ほど１隻がドック入りしていて１時間半おきになっていた。港の近くの食堂でさしみ定食を食べた。

フェリーで外国人ご夫妻に会った。はじめは話しかけるのをためらったけど、結局好奇心に負けて女性に話しかけた。雑談して、彼らがレンタカーで九州を旅行中だとわかった。前日長崎に泊まって、、フェリーで天草にわたり牛深まで行ってフェリーで長島へ渡って鹿児島市に泊まり、桜島へ行く予定だった。それから宮崎、湯布院、最後が福岡。そこから直航便でフィンランドへ行く。最近、フィンランドと福岡間で直航便が就航したと聞いていた。彼らはそれを使ったのだ。この方たちの旅行日程を聞いて驚いた。夫のほうが、牛深から蔵の元へ行くフェリーの時刻表を尋ねてきたので、娘がネットで探して教えた。楽しい時間だった。

　会議は、1日目、高石ともやの歌を聞いた。その後、水俣病患者の状況報告が会った。認定申請をして却下されている人々がいる。報告者は、胎児性水俣病の患者は症状が成人のものと違う場合があると言っていた。そのことは公式にも認められている。それでも却下される。生前認定されなかったお母さんが亡くなった後、熊本県を訴えている遺族がいる。

　奇妙な感じがした。「利益相反」のように思えた。熊本県行政は賠償金を払わなくてはならない、同時に誰を認定し誰を認定しないかを決定する。患者さんの立場に立って考えると信じられるだろうか？

　夜、浜の近くでパーティーがあった。魚がたくさんあって、とりわけふぐに大喜びだった。娘と私は地元の方と一橋大学から来た講演者として来た方と話した。その一人は若い女性で福島県の川内村の研究をしている大学院生だった。

　二日目、川内村の人々の状況について、それと、放射性廃棄物を建築に再利用する計画について聞いた。環境省は溜まっている放射性廃棄物を減らす計画を公表した。福島原発の事故前はキロあたり100べクレルだった基準値を、事故後800べクレルまで上げた。省令を変更するだけで、放射性廃棄物を建築に再利用できるようにしようとしている。講師はこの危険な計画に注意する必要があると言った。

　会議の後、事務所でお昼ご飯をいただき、海岸へ行った。港に着いた時、フェリーは出たばかりで、また、１時間半待った。

それから、車で諫早、小浜、多良岳オレンジ海道を通って佐賀へ、娘を降ろして、うちへ帰った。

The Constitution of a strange nation

    On 1 July, I went to a business trip. It finished at ten past 5:00 pm. After that I had to go to Beppu city by 7:00 pm. I wondered if I took route 210 I would be there in time? I decided to go via express way.

      I reached Beppu city about 6:20 pm.It was too early but better than late.

     I went to the Theater Bluebird. I wanted to see “The Constitution of a strange nation”, directed by MATSUI Hisako.

    In this movie a narrator guided various people who were involved in the Constitution of Japan.　Gen. MacArthur, YOSHIDA Shigeru, SHIDEHARA Kijuro, KISHI Nobusuke, FUNADA Hajime, the young people who are anxious Japan to send military force to battle field, young mothers who are anxious their children’s future, and so on.

     A scholar of constitution HASEBE Yasuo, a former UN staff for peace keeping operation ISEZAKI Kenji, a commentator and former diplomat MAGOSAKI Ukeru, an attorney TATE Tomoko, I was very impressed by these four people.

    ISEZAKI says, after Japan situated a base Djibouti he can’t be proud of Article 9 of the Constitution any more. Djibouti is not the disputed country. Japan constructed a base in the third-person country, like U.S. has placed in Okinawa Japan. 

    He says the senior citizen who insist on conservation of the Constitution are shameful. He thinks the reform of Article 9 is needed. He hopes Japan won’t be involved in war, to prohibit the right of collective self-defense.

     HASEBE, the scholar is worry about Constitutional amendment. At present, the neoliberal U.S. subservient government wants to amend it more warlike.

     Former diplomat MAGOSAKI points out the Abe-cabinet has been betrayed their manifesto and they have changed their explanation to article 9.

    Lawyer TATE is busy to go here and there to discuss with young mothers how to participate politics as sovereign to pass next generation better society.

      This movie is so instructive. The people think and act so earnestly for peace had a great impression on me.

      Maybe a few percentage of people will get benefit if Japanese army will improve. On the other hand, the middle class and lower class people will be suffered from the decrease welfare budget or their incomes and increase of tax.

      And even if ISEZAKI’s critic is proper, I believe the senior citizen’s repent of their experience during world war 2. Maybe the campaign of conservation article 9 is a kind of atonement.

      I hope many electors vote “Non LDP” to this coming House of Councilors.

 7月1日　出張だった。5時過ぎに終わった。そのあと夜7時までに別府に行かなくてはいけなかった。210号線を使って間に合うかどうか迷った。高速道路で行くことにした。

　　別府に6時20分ごろ着いた。少し早すぎたけど、遅れるよりはいい。

　　ブルーバード劇場に行った。松井久子監督の『不思議なクニの憲法』を見たかった。

　　ナレーターが様々な日本国憲法に関わった人々を紹介して行った。マッカーサー将軍、吉田茂、幣原喜重郎、岸信介、船田元、日本が軍隊を戦争に送るのではと心配している若者、子供たちの将来を心配する若いお母さんたち、その他いろいろ。

　　憲法学者の長谷部恭男、元国連平和維持軍のスタッフだった伊勢崎賢治、元外交官で評論家の孫崎享、弁護士の竪十萌子、この４人に特に感銘を受けた。

　　伊勢崎は,日本がジブチに基地を作ってからはもう憲法９条を誇れないと言う。ジブチは紛争当事国ではない。日本は第三国に基地を作った。アメリカが日本の沖縄に作ったのと同じように。護憲と言っている年配者は恥ずかしい、と。彼は憲法９条は変える必要があると考えている。日本が戦争をしないよう、集団的自衛権を禁ずるものに。

　　憲法学者の長谷部は改憲を心配している。今やったら、ネオリベ対米従属の政府は好戦的に変えようとする。

　　元外交官の孫崎は、これまで安倍政権は公約を裏切り続けていることを指摘している。

      弁護士の竪は、若いお母さんたちと、いかに主権者として政治に参加し、より良い社会を次世代に手渡すか話し合うために東奔西走している。

　　この映画はとても学ぶものが多い。平和のために一生懸命考え行動している人々に感銘を受けた。

　　おそらく、ごくわずかの人は日本が軍備を進めると儲かるだろう。一方、中流と下流の人々は福祉予算、収入の減少と、税の増加で苦しめられるだろう。

　　それに、たとえ、伊勢崎の批判が正しいにせよ、私は年配者の第二次世界大戦への悔悟の念を信じる。多分、憲法９条を守れという運動は、ある種の償いなのだと思う。

   　今度の参議院選挙で反自民の投票がたくさんあることを願っている。
