Mom's work

On 26 Feb. I attended a meeting of Hita-city PTA "Mom" department.
Every chief of Mom of each elementary school and junior high school had mentioned what they had done on dietary education.
In the end of the meeting, a person asked. Does the association need to have Mom department? Recently there are various type of family. Is it proper that let a child who has no mom bring back a fryer from Mom department?
The staff answered national PTA had Mom department, so a city PTA got along to it. We had better ask the national PTA to consider it.
I asked another point. The research department is guessed that its aim is setting lectures. But when I've become a chief of Mom, I couldn't figure the aim of Mom department. From its name the aim can't be guessed. What is the aim?
This question had not answered.
I did the work without understanding, so I traced previous work. I haven't need to think anymore because my period was over.
Though I don't know the Mom department's work, the well-known image of Mom is declared in the Mom Song by Anita Renfore.
I love this song. When I watch her singing the song, I can't help laughing. It reminds me, even if a Mom is egocentric, blockhead, bossy, she is desperately try to care of her dependent children.

2月26日　日田市連合育友会母親部会の会議に出席しました。　小学校・中学校それぞれの母親代表が食育で取り組んだことを発表しました。
最後に一人の人が質問しました。「母親」という部門を設けておく必要があるのか？　いまどき家族構成はいろいろで母親がいない子に母親部からのお知らせを配っているのは適切なのか？と。
役員は全国ＰＴＡに「母親部」があってその構成にあわせている。全国組織に検討してもらいます、と言いました。
私は別の観点で質問しました。「研修部」というのは研修会をセットするのが役目だろうと想像するが、自分が「母親代表」になったとき「母親」というのは何をするのが役目なのかわからなかった。名称からでは目的が推測できない。目的は何でしょう？と。
この質問には答えはありませんでした。
私はわからないまま仕事をしたので前例踏襲でやりました。任期が終わったのでもう考える必要もありません。
ＰＴＡの組織の「母親」業とは何か、はわからないけれど、一般的に考える「母親」像はアニタ・レンフローの[ママの歌]で描かれています。あの歌は大好きです。彼女が歌うのを見るたび笑ってしまいます。母親がどんなに自己中心的で、ばかで、威張っていても、子どもを育てるのに必死なんだと気づかせてくれます。
