Preparing for high school
These days I'm preparing several things which my third-eldest son needs.
On 17 Mar. there was an orientaion session at the high school my son was to enter. On the way we went home we dropped in the municipal government of Hita city to get a residence proof, then we went to tailor's shop to order an uniform of high school.
I brought my second eldest son's cross bike to the bicycle shop to keep it up.
I gave him my English-Japanese dictionary and Japanese-English dictionary, and gave an archaic Japanese word dictionary and a Japanese dictionary which I bought at used book store, and gave a character dictionary which my eldest son used.
He needs a gymnastic suits, gymnastic shoes, ground shoes, a Kendogi, a bamboo sword, which I've ordered and I'll buy them on the day of entrance ceremony.
He should finish the homework of Japanese,English and Mathematics.
I'll buy a prepeid cell phone for him. At the orientation session the teacher in charge said that the students weren't allowed to bring a cell phone to the high school. In fact almost all students bring thier cell phones defiance of regulation. I tell him that he should turn on the cell phone after school out of the area. I think he had better have a cell phone,because I'll pick him up on the way home. However a prepaid phone is enough for him from cost-benefit.
But my daughter of junior high school student insists on to have a cell phone which can access internet when she will become a high school student. I reply to her "If you afford the cost by yourself after you'll have gotten a job,I don't care any cell phone you'll have". Perhaps we need long time to consider before she will become a high school student.

　このところ、3番目の倅の必要なものを準備しています。
3月17日入学する高校の説明会がありました。その帰りに日田市役所に寄って住民票をもらい、それから洋服屋さんに行って制服を注文しました。
2番目の倅のクロスバイクを自転車屋に持っていって整備をしてもらいました。
私の英和と和英の辞書、中古で買った古語辞典と国語辞典、１番上の倅が使っていた漢和辞典ををやりました。
体操服と体育館シューズ、グラウンドシューズ、剣道着　竹刀が必要なので注文して入学式の日に買います。
国語、英語、数学の宿題もしていかなくてはなりません。
プリペイド携帯電話も買おうと思っています。説明会では係りの先生が本校では携帯電話のもちこみは禁止ですといいました。しかし、ほとんどの生徒は公然と規則を無視して持ってきています。倅には放課後、敷地外で電源を入れなさいと言います。私が仕事の帰りに迎えにいくので持っていたほうがいいと思うのです。けれど、費用対効果から倅にはプリペイド携帯で十分だと思います。
しかし、中学生の娘は、自分が高校生になったらインターネットにつながる携帯電話がいいと言います。私は娘に「働くようになって自分で払うんだったら、どんな携帯電話をもってもいいよ。」と答えます。たぶん高校に入るまでにうんと考える時間が要りそうです。
