A silly failure

On 25 Dec. in the evening I was offered to come to the high school which my second-eldest son goes to. The parents of four students belonging second-year second class and two students belonging second-year fifth class were invited, because of incorrect act occered during school excursion.
There was a recreational event on the second night on the excursion. It was an obstacle race played by each classes and teachers' teams. There were eight kind of obstacles, and one of them was to take a candy from the box filled with flour without hands. This was the most popular section, so some spectator went onto the field and pushed the players' heads in the box filled with flour.
In the teachers' team Ms.K and Mr.M applied to the section. Ms.K is the homeroom teacher of fifth class and Mr.M is the homerrom teacher of second class.
First, Ms.K came to the section, when two boy students of fifth class pushed her head to the flour, next Mr.M came to the section, who said "Stop!", who was pushed his head by four students of second class.
And a row occured. Ms.K was stepped her foot by somebody afterwards it became swollen
for about a couple of days.
At that time the game was called. Whole school year students were scolded, and the second classroom students were scolded again. The six boy students were given the penalty which they can allowed to enter Disneyland two hours later than others, and to write a letter for reviewing thier act.
Further their parents were called to the school to hear the explanation. Five students' parents of the six who called were attended. One of the students' parents attended both father and mother, and the other were mothers. All the mothers were my acquintance. I know them as to make effort to growing up children. I've heard their sons as to be active.
We apologized eagerly. Each of us have given the letter written by our sons.

After the meeting one of the mothers said "I've been worried about if my son wrote
'Some teachers also laughted ot the sight.', because he said so. But I've relieved for he wrote only 'I'm sorry'. Still I'm worry about a letter of recommendation."
I've also relieved my son wrote "I was too thoughtless und immature. I'm very sorry.",
because he said at home "Why did he take part in the game? Why didn't he refuse?"

I think the students were too frolic.
In their high school the students sometimes do recreational event. For them that was
quite usual. But you can delight in the game by mutual agreement of the participants.
The students treated all the player even. They couldn't know until they were scolded
that the teacher had no agreement.
From this case we've leaned much.

　ばかげた失敗
　12月25日夕方、2番目の倅の学校に呼ばれました。修学旅行中よくない行為があったというこ
とで、2年2組の生徒4人と2年5組の生徒2人の親が呼ばれました。
修学旅行の2日目の夜、学年レクレーションがありました。各クラスと教員チーム対抗の障害
物レースです。8つの障害がありましたが、その中のひとつが小麦粉の中の飴を手を使わずにと
るというものでした。これが一番人気で何人か見物人がコースにはいってきてプレイヤーの頭を
粉の入った箱ににおしつけたそうです。
　教員チームではＫ先生とＭ先生がそのパートに当たりました。Ｋ先生は5組の担任でＭ先生は2
組の担任です。
　まず、Ｋ先生がそのパートに来たので5組の男子生徒2人が先生の頭を粉の中におしました。
その後に来たＭ先生は「やめろ」と言ったのですが、2組の男子生徒4人から頭を粉の中におされ
ました。そこで騒動になりＫ先生は足を誰かに踏まれてしまいました。その後2日くらいはれて
いたそうです。
　その時点でレクレーションは中止になり、学年全体でおこられ、2組はクラスでもおこられました。
生徒6人はディズニーランド入園を2時間遅らせるという罰を受け、反省文を書きました。
　そして、親が呼ばれ、説明を受けました。生徒6人が呼ばれたうち5人の親が出席しました。1
軒は両親で残りは母親が来ていました。お母さん達はみな顔見知りでした。子育てに熱心な方た
ちです。子ども達は活動的なタイプです。
　皆でとにかく謝りました。子ども達の反省文も読ませてもらいました。
　終わったあと、一人のお母さんは「うちの子は『先生達だって笑ってる人もいた』と言ってい
たのでそれを書いたんじゃないかと心配だった。ただ『ごめんなさい』と書いてあってよかった。
でも推薦が心配」と言いました。私も倅がうちで「いやなら参加しなきゃいいのに」と言っていた
ので心配でした。が、反省文には「自分の考えが浅く未熟でした。本当にすみません」と書
いてあったので安心しました。
浮かれすぎたのだと思います。この高校では生徒はときどき気晴らしのイベントをやります。
彼らにとってはいつものことでした。しかし楽しいゲームは参加者皆が楽しもうという合意があ
ってできるものです。生徒達はゲームに参加したプレイヤーを皆同じに扱いましたが、それを怒
られて初めて、先生には合意がなかったことを知りました。
　今回の件はよい勉強になりました。
